The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has launched its own franchise-based T20 league competition, and it is to be held in the UAE in October.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is looking at this league with big aspirations in mind. But what has hit them as a setback, is that despite their hopes to see Indian cricketing stars in the league, Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) is very unlikely to allow Indian players from participating in the newly-launched venture. 

Top Afghanistan Cricket Board official wanted BCCI to pave the way for at least some of its non-contracted players to take part in their league. But BCCI refused to give NOC's to its players for any T20 competition around the world, just like it never has. 

ACB CEO Shafiqullah Stanikzai talked to PTI regarding the same and he was quoted saying, "I am not talking about the current Indian cricketers here but it will be great if the other Indian players can come and play in our league," 

He further added, "I will speak to the BCCI officials on the subject but honestly it looks tough at the moment," 

India has played a very significant part in the great growth of Afghanistan cricket. The Afghanistan team has been granted training facilities in India by BCCI and has been provided home grounds in Greater Noida and Dehradun. India will also be hosting Afghanistan's inaugural Test in Bengaluru, this June. 

BCCI official told PTI about the issue that, "India has always lent a helping hand to its friend Afghanistan and will continue to do so. The ACB officials have not so far come to us on the participation of our players in their league. Honestly speaking, it will be tough to allow the players at this stage. If we allow one, we have to give clearance to everyone,"
