One of the two-Test matches versus West Indies later this year will be a day-night affair as per close BCCI sources. In a recent report in Times of India, BCCI Acting Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary has said in a media statement that the board is thinking to stage its first day and night Test fixture for the Indian Cricket team.

"I had consulted the Indian team management, the selectors, the office bearers and all were in agreement that one of the two Tests against West Indies will be a day-night Test," Chaudhary told reporters on the sidelines of the five-day International Cricket Council (ICC) meet.

Hyderabad and Rajkot are the two venues which are slated to host the two Tests against West Indies, although the dates for it have not been released as of now by the BCCI.

India will host West Indies for three Tests, five ODIs and a one-off T20I later this year. The Caribbean team is set to visit the country in October-November. The lone T20I will be played at the Eden Gardens under the supervision of CAB President Sourav Ganguly.

West Indies last toured India for a bilateral series in 2014 for a limited-overs and a Test series, but following a pay dispute with the WICB (West Indies Cricket Board), the tour was abandoned midway after the fourth ODI in Dharamsala. Since, West Indies have only been to India for the World T20 in 2016, while India have toured the Caribbean twice - Tests in 2016 and limited-overs series (five ODIs and one T20I) in 2017. India won both the legs.
