Ishant, who played for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2017 season, went unsold in the IPL 2018 auction, which didn’t come as a surprise to many. His performance was not upto the mark in IPL 2017 and it has been a while since he has played limited overs cricket for India.
Therefore he turned his focus on the English county season and so far, Ishant Sharma is having a very fruitful English county season with Sussex. He picked up five wickets in the last match he played for Sussex and now, he has done something that he didn’t do in First Class cricket, even in India, playing for Delhi.
Ishant Sharma scored his first FC fifty n his 120th match. This fifty came against Leicestershire, as Sussex piled up 438/8d, with Michael Burgess scoring 101 and Luke Wright making 88.
Ishant scored 66 from 141 balls with 6 fours and one six, before losing his wicket to Ateeq Javid, caught by Gavin Griffiths.
