Australian cricket is yet to completely get over losing their two premier players in Steve Smith and David Warner post the aftermath of the ball tampering scandal in the Test series against South Africa. Both Smith andWarner have been suspended from the game for 12 months as Australia is looking forward to turning a new leaf and adding a different culture to their sport.

Tim Paine is the current Test skipper for Australia as the higher officials are in search of their next coach and the next skipper of the limited overs format.

However, they are not in any hurry and are not losing sleep over the selection.

“The board has asked management to provide recommendations regarding candidates for the men’s head coach, ODI (one-day international) captain and ODI vice-captain,” Peever said in a statement after a board meeting on Friday."

“The board is anticipating receiving these recommendations in the coming weeks, with a view to making appointments ahead of the ODI Tour to the UK."

“Once these appointments have been endorsed and finalized, announcements can then be made.”

Aaron Finch seems the most likely to be the next Australian skipper, however, there is no confirmed news on the same.

Australia tour England in June for five one-day internationals and a one-off Twenty20 fixture and it is expected that Australia will announce their next limited overs skipper before that.
