Virat Kohli is currently one of the best batsmen in cricket. He has become a role model for many and no wonder youngsters look up to him. But the modern great revealed he has observed his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers to better his game.

He had a really good overseas series in South Africa. The Indian skipper had scored 286 runs at an average of 47.65 from three Tests, and in ODI the numbers just got better with 558 runs at an average of 186 from six matches.

Talking about the memorable tour to NDTV, Kohli said, “I actually learned something from him in the recent Test series that we played. I made that adjustment to my game, which I haven’t told him about yet."

“I used to tap my bat right at the end before playing a ball which worked for me in the shorter format where the ball was not moving that much. But then I saw him playing Bumrah and ball beating him but the ball won’t hit him because he was so correct with what he was doing. And then I wondered as to why I was edging the ball. I then went back and analyzed and saw how still his head was. I then stopped tapping the bat and it made my head more still and I started scoring runs in the Test after that,” Kohli added.

The 29-year-old is currently leading RCB in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. His team has won one out of four games with 10 more matches to go. They still have a long way to go and the RCB skipper Virat isn't worrying about the qualifying to play-offs. In his recent interview, he had asked people not to be judgemental about his team too early in the tournament.
