India’s bowling spearhead Ishant Sharma started his English county stint for Sussex with a bang, taking 5 wickets in the match against Warwickshire. The Specsavers County Championship Division Two match however ended in a draw.

Warwickshire batted first and made 299 with Tim Ambrose making 81 and Ian Bell making 70. Ishant Sharma picked 3/53 for Sussex and David Wiese picked 4/56. Sussex made 374 with Ben Brown making 91 and David Wiese making 106 in 105 balls and Ishant contributing with 22 runs. Warwickshire’s Olly Stone picked 8/80 to remove Sussex’s top order.

Second innings saw Warwickshire making 87/3, with Ishant taking 2/16.
