The commonwealth games sportsperson Brendan Starc has a fine connection with our sport because of being related to a few well known international cricketers. Brendan is Australian cricketers Mitchell Starc's younger brother and Alyssa Healy's brother-in-law.

The 24-year-old, Starc achieved a personal best of 2.32m to clinch the gold medal for the first time in the ongoing biggest event of sports. Starc won the prestigious feat enjoying the moment of his career in front of fans around the world with the Australian national flag draped around his shoulders.

With a lot of cricket covering community present, the connection with cricket was bound to come when he was questioned after the happiest day of his career. He replied, "No, I don't follow cricket. That's my brother's sport. I played when I was younger but naah that wasn't mine. We played when we were younger in the backyard, that's it,"

Brandon's sister-in-law Alyssa recently scored a hundred in India when she toured with the Southern Stars, the Australian women's team, against India in Vadodara. While Starc senior, Mitchell bowled a lot of overs in the tough test tour that just concluded in South Africa. He'll be nursing a knee injury for which he is missing the current IPL season.

Thanking his home crowd for the competition played in Gold Coast. He said, "The home crowd is awesome, you've got to take it. I love getting the crowd involved,"

"I'm going to be in tears for sure. I'm going to love every moment,"

Mitchell Starc took to Twitter to congratulate his brother through the video tweet of the actual action.
