Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev on Wednesday lashed out at former Pakistan all-rounder and skipper Shahid Afridi for his controversial comment on Kashmir, which took the social media by storm.

On Wednesday (4 April), Afridi made headlines for his controversial statement concerning Kashmir on Twitter.

Even, he also urged the United Nations (UN) to intervene on the “Indian Occupied Kashmir” issue to stop “bloodshed of innocents” after the Indian security forces killed 13 terrorists in three gunfights.

Since then, Indian cricketers have been continuously pouring the arrow of the sour words at Afridi on the social media as Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Moh Kaif are among the other cricketers who have shown their anger at former Pakistani cricketer on Twitter.

Afridi has written on his official Twitter handle, “Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?”

Now, the World Cup-winning Indian skipper hits back at Afridi by saying that he does not deserve any attention. As per News 18, Kapil Dev said, “Who is he? Why are we giving importance to him? We should not be giving importance to certain people.”

India and Pakistan have not played each other in any bilateral series since 2007 due to the hostile political ties between the two neighbors.

And if the cross-border war continues, it will be a distant dream for Pakistan to play its neighbors on the field.
