Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has become the most recent Indian cricketer to lambast former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for his controversial statement on ‘Kashmir’.

Tendulkar, who used to have a very fierce rivalry with the Pakistani bowlers during his playing days, told Afridi that India don’t need the advice of outsiders on Kashmir related issues.

According to news agency ANI, Tendulkar on Wednesday (April 4) said: "We have got capable people to manage and run our country. No outsider needs to know or tell us what we need to do."

Afridi grabbed the headlines on Tuesday (April 3) after expressing his views on Kashmir. He had urged the United Nations (UN) to intervene in "Indian Occupied Kashmir" to stop the killing of "innocents".

“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” Afridi had written on his official Twitter page.

Within the last 24 hours, Afridi has felt the wrath of the Indian citizens and cricketers including Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Kapil Dev and Mohammad Kaif.
