On Saturday (March 31), the Indian captain took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude for being crowned with the 'Most Engaged Account on Instagram of 2017'.
“A bit late but I'd like to thank @Instagram for this award for the Most Engaged Account on Instagram of 2017 in India,” Kohli wrote.
The 29-year-old also thanked his fans for the love and support. Virat also revealed that he now boats more than 20 million followers on Instagram.
“A big thank you to all my fans for all the love and support I've always been bestowed upon. It's because of you guys, I've always been motivated to do the right things and achieve whatever I've been able to till date. ???? Kohli joined the platform on June 23, 2015 and his first post was of him acknowledging the crowd after his century against Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup in Adelaide. With a total of 494 posts, Kohli has 20.1 million followers, which may not be the most in terms of followers, but has the most comments and likes.
When it comes to on-field performances, Kohli has been in top form of late. He was the highest run-getter in both Test and ODI series from either side during the South Africa tour. Virat had scored 286 runs at an average of 47.66 on some of the most difficult wickets in three Tests and then followed it up with 558 runs at an average of 186 in 6 ODIs.
