India women’s team skipper Mithali Raj and IPL franchise Mumbai Indians’ owner Nita Ambani have been named in the inaugural list of Forbes Most Powerful Women in Sports. While Nita Ambani made it to the ninth position in this esteemed list, Mithali stands at No. 12.
The first female secretary general of FIFA, Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura is leading the list followed by Lydia Nsekera – who has been a part of the International Olympic Committee since 2009. Nsekera is the leading voice for creating policies that promote and protect gender equality in sport around the world.
Florence Hardouin of France is placed at No. 3 in the list. She is the first woman to have been elected a member of the executive committee of UEFA.
