Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has come out sympathizing with sacked Australia captain Steve Smith after watching his teary-eyed and emotional press conference in Sydney.

Not only Australian cricketers but many renowned Indian cricketers including –Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh are among others, who are upset by watching Smith breakdown and thrown their support behind Smith after his emotional press conference after being suspended by Cricket Australia for ball-tampering controversy.

CA banned Smith along with David Warner for 12 months and Cameron Bancroft for nine months after being caught on camera roughing up the ball using 'yellow-tape' to alter the conditions of the ball.

However, many cricket pundits and cricketers admitted that Smith made a mistake, but suggested that the fans should not forget he’s been a great cricketer, who has brought a lot of glory to Australian cricket.

On Friday (30 March), Yuvraj went on Twitter to share a heartfelt message for Smith, saying he certainly made mistake and for which he was handed lengthy suspension, and he's "not the first person to tamper the ball."

His post reads, “To be honest it's a bit sad to see @stevesmith49 like this Yes we all know he made a mistake and he is bearing the consequences for it but let's not forget he's been a great batsman and a good guy who' got a lot of glory to Aus cricket also not the first person to tamper the ball.”
