The ball-tampering row has stunned the entire cricket world, and it was the biggest shock to the pride of the Australian cricket when the Aussies were caught red handed tampering with the Ball in Cape Town.

It was probably one of the biggest controversies in the history of the game, as Australia’s Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft have been caught out on camera tampering with a ball and even they admitted it, which not only gave a serious shock to the kangaroos but also the entire world.

Since the video footage of ball-tampering has appeared on the social media, the entire world from fans to former cricketers has been continuously expressing their anger on the social media.

Shashank Manohar –Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has now expressed his opinion on Australia's ball-tampering scandal, saying every team wants to win but they cannot use dubious methods to win the matches.

He told Sportstar, “Every team wants to win, but players cannot use dubious methods to gain victory. It is not in the spirit of the game. The ICC has taken a serious note of the events in Cape Town.”

Cricket Australia on Tuesday (March 27) banned skipper Smith and Vice-captain Warner for 12 months, while Bancroft was handed a 9-month suspension from international cricket.

On being asked about the ICC’s plan of action against the latest chapter, he replied, “The ICC plans to put together a group of former players of impeccable reputation. This new panel will operate under the existing Code of Conduct, but [it] will be free to recommend punitive measures that it may deem fit. The penalty must be such that it deters all cricketers from indulging in such malpractices in future.”

Manohar also said that the ICC would discuss with former cricketers who have been captains of their countries — Allan Border, Shaun Pollock, Anil Kumble, Mahela Jayawardene and Richie Richardson and ascertain their availability to perform the specific role.
