Rhiti Sports planning the biggest sports and entertainment destination centre in India

Indian wicket-keeper batsman –Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s managing company –Rhiti Sports Management Private Limited has planned to venture into an amusement park –“Appu Ghar” in Gurugram.

As per Economic Times report, Rhiti Sports’ subsidiary –Inter Sports has signed an operation, management, and development agreement (OMDA) with International Recreation and Amusement Limited (IRAL) for the 33-acre ‘Appu Ghar’ amusement park.

It is learned that the company will spend around ₹1,500-crore to develop the amusement park, which also have sports, entertainment and shopping facilities, locating in Gurugram’s Sector 29.

Rhiti Sports managing director Arun Pandey said about the latest development, “We will try to make this the biggest sports and entertainment destination centre of this country. We will review everything in the next three months, and then we will decide on the next step.”

The IRAL management, which runs the Oyster Park amusement facility, has been struggling financially and that’s why they have to unite with the Rhiti Sports to restart the Appu Ghar project.

Meanwhile, IRLA managing director Rakesh Babbar said, “I will be honest in telling you that we were struggling. That’s why we are bringing them. They have the capability to turn around this project.”

Beside “Appu Ghar”, there will be also a ‘Seven’ store and a fitness centre owned by Dhoni in the ambitious project of Rhiti Sports, which manages cricketers including KL Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Manish Pandey.

Initially, the Appu Ghar had started in New Delhi in 1984 and it was named after the 1982 Asian Games mascot – Appu the elephant.
