Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad, who is known to entertain the crowd with his scintillating strokeplay, was in full flow during the ICC World Cup qualifiers final against West Indies on Sunday (March 25).

During his 84 runs knock, Shahzad pulled off a couple of MS Dhoni-alike helicopter shot that sent Twitterati into a frenzy. West Indies skipper Jason Holder bowled a length delivery to Shahzad, who imperiously flicked it over midwicket. Such was Shahzad's swagger after executing the stroke that he didn’t even bother to look at the ball.

After losing the first three matches in 2018 ICC World Cup qualifiers, Afghanistan made a stellar comeback to win the title by beating West Indies in the all-important final. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the star for Afghanistan with the ball as his 4 for 43 restricted the Windies to 204 in 46.5 overs.

In reply, the Afghan boys chased down the target with 56 balls to spare. While Shahzad was the hero with the bat for his 93-ball 84 which included 11 fours and 2 sixes, Rahmat Shah also scored a crucial 51 batting at No. 3 position.
