Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami got injured after being involved in a road accident on way to Delhi, near Asharodi, on Sunday morning.

The pacer, who was in Dehradun to prepare for IPL 2018, was traveling to Delhi in the wee hours, when his vehicle collided with a truck.

The cricketer was taken to CMI hospital where he was given stitches on the head. Mohammad Fahad, Shami’s friend who was traveling with him told TOI, “The accident occurred at 5.30 am. Shami was injured and got stitches. He has been discharged from the hospital and is recuperating.”

As soon as the news broke out of his accident, his fans and teammates tweeted their prayers and wishes for the 28-year-old.

Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-rounder wished for a speedy recovery of the pacer. He wrote, ".@MdShami11 bhai, wishing you a speedy recovery. Hoping to see you on the field soon. Take care!"

Shami will play for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2018. The Indian cricketer recently received a clean chit by the BCCI's ACU unit with respect to the allegations levied on him by his wife Hasin Jahan.

He also got his BCCI annual Grade B contract back, which was withheld pending the investigation.
