Indian Women’s Team skipper – Mithali Raj is eyeing for a clean sweep in their upcoming Sri Lanka tour to get six points which they lost with their embarrassing series defeat at the hands of Australia at home.

The eves are set to play in Sri Lanka in the third round of the ICC Women's Championship following South Africa tour, where India won the One Day International series with 2-1 and, but they failed to replicate that show at home, as they were whitewashed 3-0 by Australia recently.

As per PTI, Mithali Raj said, “We will definitely look for a clean sweep to get six points (in the next series) against Sri Lanka. It becomes very important that whatever ICC Championship matches that we play (from here on) against other teams to aim and play for those points since we have lost out on six points (against Australia) and we lost two points in South Africa.”

She signed off by saying, “From the tour to South Africa we have got four points but we haven't managed to get even two points from the series against Australia (but) we still have other teams to go (play against). Now, whenever we play against other teams it will be important for us not to lose out on any games.”

India’s Smriti Mandhana has been phenomenal in the ODI championship, as she is the second leading scorer in the tournament so far with 350 runs only behind New Zealand's Sophie Devine who has a tally of 428 runs, including two centuries.

Smriti would look to continue her good run in Sri Lanka, which could be very helpful for India to gain some points from Island tour.

Currently, Mithali –led India is fifth in the points table with four points.
