Womens T20I Tri-series: Radha Yadav to replace Rajeshwari Gaekwad for the remaining leg

The All-India Women's Selection Committee has been named the left-arm spinner Radha Yadav as the replacement for injured Rajeshwari Gayakwad for the remainder of the T20 International Tri-series, featuring Australia and England, at home.

India suffered major injury blows during the home series earlier as experienced left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht injured her left index finger while attempting a return catch in the third Australia ODI in Baroda on Sunday (March 18) and ruled out of the series.  

Now, Indian left-arm spinner –Rajeshwari, who was replaced Ekta, picked up a webbing injury to her right hand during a fielding session following India's 6-wicket loss to Australia in the Tri-series opener on 22 March.

As per PTI, BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a release, “The All-India Women's Selection Committee has named Radha Yadav as the replacement for injured Rajeshwari Gayakwad in India's squad for the ongoing Paytm Women's T20 Triangular Series in Mumbai.”

The 17-year-old Radha made her international debut in the recently concluded South Africa series, which India won by 3-1 where she went wicket-less for two T20Is.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian eves will now face England in the third match of the T2OI Tri-series Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday (25 March).

Before the start of the T20I series, the Indian womens team played the ICC Championship series against South Africa registering victories in both the ODI and the T20I series.
