Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has taken a social media user to task after the latter spread a rumour about his demise. On Tuesday (March 20), a Pakistan-based Facebook user named ‘Ahsan Kamal Pasha’ had shared a false news about Akhtar’s death at the age of 42.
“Sad News. Shoaib Akhtar (Rawalpindi Express) today at the age of 42 passed by a Fruit shop this morning.” Ahsan Kamal Pasha had written on his Facebook page.
As soon as Shoaib got to know about this fake news, he took to micro-blogging site Twitter and humiliated the guy with his wit and sarcasm.
Shoaib Akhtar, who boasts more than 1 million followers on Twitter, posted a screenshot of that rumour and captioned it as: “So i pass by a fruit shop every day guys , the joke falls apart ???? Good try buddy!! #shoaibakhtar #Rawalpindiexpress”.

Having retired from cricket back in 2011, Shoaib is currently mentoring the young fast bowlers in Pakistan besides being involved in some charity works. He recently featured in the St. Moritz Ice Cricket T20 tournament. Akhtar's Royals, led by Shahid Afridi, defeated Sehwag-led Palace Diamonds to win the two-match series 2-0.
