PSL 2018 is in its last stages for the season and Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has urged PCB to not consider foreign players from the next edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Several foreign players have opted out from participating in the knockouts of the tournament after Quetta Gladiators advanced through to the knockouts. 

he players who backed out of the eliminators include England opener Jason Roy, star batsman Kevin Pietersen, Australian veteran Shane Watson and all-rounder Ben Laughlin.

“I think the players should give importance to Pakistan when they accept huge contract offers,” said Ahmed while addressing the media during a press conference. 

In response to a question, the Pakistan team’s captain said that he won’t say Gladiators opener Shane Watson betrayed the franchise, as he had confirmed of his participation but his wife did not allow him to visit Pakistan.

The skipper was hopeful of the local players playing as per expectations and making the country proud in the last few matches. 

Earlier, In a cliffhanger of a contest, Peshawar Zalmi won the first Eliminator against Quetta Gladiators by just one run. Batting first, Liam Dawson's quickfire and power-packed  62 helped Peshawar reach 157 at the end of their 20. 

In their chase, Quetta faltered early on, but Anwar Ali tried his best to reach close to the Peshawar total. He scored 28 from 14 balls but still, his team fell short by 1 run.
