Hardik Pandya has taken his partnership with MS Dhoni off the field. The India all-rounder has joined the former India skipper as the brand ambassador of Gulf Oil India.
"I am excited to be associated with Gulf Oil. It is a global brand recognized for its high-performance products. I look forward to our journey together," the 23-year-old said at an event in Mumbai.
Pandya shared a picture with Dhoni on social media. "Excited to start a new partnership with Gulf Oil India and excited to be alongside a great mentor MS Dhoni," he wrote. Dhoni has been associated with the company since 2011 as its brand ambassador.
Managing Director of Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited Ravi Chawla welcomed Pandya on board: "On behalf of the Gulf, we welcome Hardik Pandya. A youth icon who personifies Gulf's strong sporting heritage, his commitment to outperform is akin to our brand ideals of 'Quality, Endurance, Passion'. Our association with Hardik would further enhance our engagement with the sport of cricket as well as the millions of fans & consumers across the country."
Dhoni had in fact last year donned the hat of the company's CEO for a day and also attended some important meetings. "As a CEO of the company for the day, Mahi has attended all the special meetings of the company. He will also take quite a few decisions, just like a real CEO. Mahi's association with the company goes back a long way, and for a long time, he also wanted to understand how a corporate CEO works. He wanted to try this out too," Dhoni's manager Arun Pandey was quoted by Sportstar.
The two cricketers, Dhoni and Pandya, playing for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians respectively, will be seen clashing with each other in the opening game of upcoming Indian Premier League 2018.
