India batsman Rohit Sharma is known for his love for the nature and he often raises his voice over the cruelty and mistreatment on animals. On Tuesday (March 20), Rohit shared an emotional message on social photo site Instagram after the extinction of last Northern White African male rhino.

Expressing his grief, the dejected Sharma said sorry to the male rhino named ‘Sudan’ on behalf of the entire humankind.

“The last Male has fallen #WeDidThis the last Northern White African male rhino marks the certain extinction of this incredible species. Rest in peace Sudan, you deserved so much better. On behalf of all mankind, I’m sorry #WeDidThis ???? #SudanForever” Rohit wrote on his official Instagram page.

In the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit recently led Team India to the Twenty-20 tri-series victory in Sri Lanka. Sharma managed the resources extremely well as the Men in Blue went into the tournament without the services of their leading bowlers such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav.

Team India lost only one match in the tournament and won the thrilling final against Bangladesh courtesy a last-ball six from Dinesh Karthik. In the all-important final, Rohit led from the front and scored a magnificent 42-ball 56 as India chased down the target of 167 with 4 wickets in hand.
