The Australian women team continued their dominance in the third and final one-day internationals against India women, with wicketkeeper batswoman Alyssa Healy scoring her maiden international century in the match. Riding on Healy’s sensational 115-ball 133 (17 boundaries and 2 sixes), the Southern Stars scored 332/7 in their allotted 50 overs at Reliance Stadium, Vadodara on Sunday (March 18).

It was also the first century by a female Australian wicketkeeper and the highest individual score against India women.

Alyssa Healy’s awe-inspiring show was applauded by her husband and Australia speedster Mitchell Starc. In an Instagram post, the 27-year old Starc shared an image of Healy and described his wife as a “bloody legend”.

“Maiden 100. First ODI ton by an Aus women’s keeper. Highest Aus score v India. Not a bad days work! Bloody legend! #proudhubby” Starc’s Instagram post read.

Starc, who is currently featuring in a four-match Test series against South Africa, also took to micro-blogging site Twitter to hail his wife.

“How bloody good!!! ???? in the green and gold ???????????????? @ahealy77 you little legend! #proudhubby” Starc wrote in his tweet by tagging Alyssa Healy’s official account.

Speaking after her maiden international ton, Healy said she was starting to find her feet in the subcontinent conditions.

“I was a little bit loose at times but it was nice to get out there and spend a bit of time in the middle,” Healy said according to cricket.com.au.

“I was a little bit nervous heading out there because I haven’t faced too many of the Indian bowlers before, so it was good for me to get out there and get some experience in these conditions,” she added.

The Meg Lanning led Australian side had already taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the ODI series. While the Aussie women had won the first ODI by 8 wickets, they thrashed India by 60 runs in the second match.
