The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (March 17) finalised the venues for India’s home series against West Indies and Australia later this year. As per the itinerary, Hyderabad and Rajkot will host two Test matches against the West Indies while Delhi will stage a One-Day International game against Australia.

The Virat Kohli led Indian cricket team will feature in three Test matches at home this year. While India will play Afghanistan’s historic first Test at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium from June 14 to 18, they will play two more against Windies in October after Diwali.

Besides, the Men in Blue will also play five ODIs against the West Indies. Mumbai, Guwahati, Kochi, Indore and Pune will host the 50-over matches. The series against the Caribbean will end with three Twenty20 Internationals at Kolkata, Chennai and Kanpur.

Following the T20I series against West Indies, India will leave for their much-anticipated Test series in Australia. They will again host Australia for five ODIs and two T20 Internationals in February-March next year.

The five ODIs will be staged at Mohali (February 24), Hyderabad (February 27), Nagpur (March 2), Delhi (March 5) and Ranchi (March 8), while the two Twenty-20 Internationals will be played at Bengaluru (March 10) and Visakhapatnam (March 13).

As per the reports in PTI, CAB president Sourav Ganguly was a special invitee at the Tours and Fixtures Committee meeting on Saturday. Aside from Ganguly, acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, GM (Cricket Operations) Saba Karim and Rajan Tiwary were also present there in the meeting.

“It is only good that Delhi gets to host matches in March as there won’t be any problems of air pollution like it happened during the Sri Lanka Test match, last December,” BCCI acting president CK Khanna told PTI after the venue accouchement.
