After Amitabh Choudhary, BCCI’s acting secretary wrote a scathing letter to the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators and accused them of usurping power from BCCI officials, Vinod Rai, the head of CoA has retorted back in kind.

In a response to Choudhary's email on Friday, the CoA stated: “Thank you for your mail of 16th March. We appreciate its contents. After due consideration of the facts contained therein, we take this opportunity to reiterate our instructions of 15th March 2018.”

The CoA had issued an advisory that banned BCCI office-bearers from representing the Board in legal cases, appointed alternate signatories in case the office-bearers fail to sign major communication and appointment letters, and barred the office-bearers and their executive assistants to travel for BCCI work without the CoA's written permission.

Choudhary, in his letter, had requested the CoA to work in tandem with the BCCI officials as a team to ensure smooth implementation of the Lodha committee reforms.

“Considering more than a year has elapsed since the appointment of the Committee, the undersigned therefore requests the Committee, with all humility at his command, that instead of running each other down it guides us all with single minded determination towards the paramount objective of expediting the implementation of the 18th July, 2016 judgement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India,” he wrote.
