Former Pakistan Test captain, and Quetta Gladiators coach –Moin Khan has lashed out at the overseas players, who are refusing to travel to Pakistan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 playoffs and the final, and questioned the policy of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their selection in the tournament.

As the two eliminators and the final are set to take place in Pakistan, Lahore and Karachi respectively,  the foreign players made it clear they will not be available for the final leg of the PSL 2018.  Moin believes that those players, who don’t like to travel to Pakistan, should not be included in the player draft.

The former keeper also blamed the PCB for including them in the PSL draft, as they make themselves unavailable to play in Pakistan despite charging millions of dollars for playing in the T20 league, and urged the national board to pick only players, who are ready to play in Pakistan.

As per PTI, Moin Khan said, “I blame the Pakistan Cricket Board for this sad situation. I know the board will not like my comments. But in future, only those overseas players should be included in the player draft who commits to also play in Pakistan if required by their franchises.”

In the last season, the PSL final was held in Lahore and all the foreign players including Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Rouwsee, and Luke Wright refused to travel to Pakistan citing security concerns.

The 46-year-old further added on the same, “The franchises pay them well to play in the PSL. But when they refuse to travel to Pakistan it upsets the balance of the concerned franchises and also deprives our people of seeing competitive cricket.”

Moin signed off by saying, “I am more concerned over Pakistan cricket and the PSL future. We can't have this happening all the time.”

Many overseas players have already refused to travel to Pakistan if required by their franchises, but some of them have shown willingness to go to Lahore and Karachi for the PSL 2018 playoffs and the final, playing on 20-21 March and 25 March respectively.
