India women squad for T20I tri-series announced; Harmanpreet to lead, Jhulan returns

The All-India Women's Selection Committee has named the Indian Women’s squad for the upcoming Paytm T20I tri-series. The Tri-series will also involve Australia Women’s team and England Women’s team and will be played from March 22- March 31, 2018 in Mumbai.

The Indian women’s team will be led by the mercurial batswoman Harmanpreet Kaur and ace opener Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy. The team largely remains same to the one that played in South Africa T20I series.

The one major change that was made in the team was the return of veteran fast bowler Jhulan Goswami. Goswami missed the T20I series in South Africa due to an injury and was out of action for a while.

The squad includes Mithali Raj, who was the Player of the series against South Africa in the T20Is, young Jemimah Rodrigues, Taniya Bhatia as the keeper, Rumeli Dhar and likes of Ekta Bisht and Mona Meshram .
