It seems that Ravichandran Ashwin wants to be an all-round spinner. After mastering the art of off-spin and carrom ball, the Tamil Nadu lad was seen displaying his leg-spin skills during the Iran Cup match between Rest of India and Vidarbha in Nagpur.

In a video posted by BCCI on their official website, Ashwin can be seen bowling as many as four leg breaks in his 18th over to Vidarbha batsmen Wasim Jaffer and Faiz Fazal.

“SPECIAL: Introducing @ashwinravi99, the leg spinner! We have seen him bamboozle the best batsmen with his off breaks, but the ace spinner has added another dimension to his bowling and that is leg spin. Here’s the latest from R Ashwin’s bag of tricks,” the BCCI wrote in the caption of the video.

Ashwin bowled the first delivery of the 61st over for Rest of India to seasoned campaigner Jaffer, which was an attempted leg break but was going down the leg side. The 31-year-old repeated the same in the third, fourth and fifth delivery that went for 0, 0 and 1-run respectively.

Following this over, Ashwin managed to build some pressure on the experienced duo of Jaffer and Fazal. Just before the tea break, Ashwin got his reward as Faiz Fazal went for the slog sweep but couldn’t clear the short fine leg.

Prior to the South Africa tour as well, Ashwin has spotted bowling leg-spin deliveries during a VAP Trophy match against Grand Slam at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The veteran offie had bowled nine overs in total in which six overs of leg-spin fetched him two wickets.
