PSL 2018: Islamabad United's pacer Rumaan Raees ruled out of the tournament

PSL has confirmed Rumman Raees has returned home.

Pakistan fast bowler –Rumman Raees, who also represents the Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been ruled out of the rest of the ongoing edition of the PSL 2018.

On 26 February, the 26-year-old had suffered a knee injury during the 9th PSL match against Quetta Gladiators in Sharjah, and since then Raees has not returned to the field.

The unfortunate incident took place during 13th over of the match when the pacer jumped up at long-on to stop a boundary, but lost his balance and stuck his knee on the ground. He was immediately stretchered off the field and underwent an MRI.

As per Cricbuzz, Islamabad United coach –Dean Jones had said, "We are hopeful that the initial tests are good. The kid is a fantastic kid. I hope he will be alright.”

On Tuesday (13 March), PSL went on his official Twitter handle to confirm that Raees has returned home to go through a recovery process.

 “Islamabad United pacer Rumman Raees has returned home and will not take any further part in #HBLPSL 2018. Rumman injured his knee while fielding in Sharjah and will now go through a recovery process back home" the official PSL handle wrote. 

Currently,  the Islamabad United are standing at second on the PSL 2018 points table with 10 points, with five wins from seven games, while Quetta Gladiators are holding the top spot in the table.

In the 25th match of the PSL 2015, the United will take on Multan Sultans at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, in Sharjah on Tuesday (13 March).
