The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Karachi Kings skipper –Imad Wasim survived a head injury during a thrilling encounter against Lahore Qalandars, who won the match in the super over.

Wasim has immediately stretchered off the field when he fell down on his back, with his neck and head hitting the ground while taking a catch on the ball of fast bowler Mohammad Amir.

The horrible incident took place during the 19th over of the second innings when Sohail Khan miscued a full toss which was the strike only towards mid-on, and Wasim ran backward before taking a catch from near his face but lost his balance and fell on his head on the ground.

Kings Coach Mickey Arthur on Monday confirmed that there is not a serious injury to Wasim but he will have to undergo a CT scan test and “will stay in for observation” tonight.

Meanwhile, franchise owner Salman Iqbal wrote on his official Twitter handle of Imad's injury, “Alhumdulilah he is strong and doing well… all our prayers for the #skipper,”

While PSL also shared an update about his health on Twitter, “Imad Wasim is stable and as per protocol under observation for next 24hrs. He had a mild concussion and his vitals are fine.”

However, the coach assured that Wasim ‘seems ok’, but at the moment, it is difficult to say that Imad will play his team's next encounter on March 15 against Peshawar Zalmi. In the absence of regular skipper, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi will lead the side in the tournament.

Kings are currently placed at the fourth on the PSL 2018 points table and are yet to confirm their place in the playoffs.
