PCB pondering over having its own T10 League

The reports at Geo TV have suggested that the management of Pakistan Super League (PSL) have decided to launch mini PSL –T10 league after a successful T20 event in the country.

It is learned that PSL franchise owners had a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL chairman –Najam Sethi in Dubai on Sunday (11 March), where they have discussed the idea of having a 10 overs’ T20 tournament in the country, and everyone also agreed for PSL’s T10 tournament.

The source said about the matter, “Everyone agreed for PSL’s T10 tournament. If all goes well, it will be held in September in Pakistan. All six PSL teams will participate in the tournament with same owners but a separate draft will be taken place for players’ selection.”

Currently, six teams are competing in the third edition of the PSL 2018 in Dubai, with Lahore will host two playoffs on 20 and 21 March, while the finale will be played on March 25 in Karachi.

The Quetta Gladiators is currently placed at the top spot along with Islamabad United in the PSL 2018 points table with 10 points, while the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi are at the NO. 5 position with 6 points.

Recently, PCB has also announced the schedule of the West Indies T20 series. The first T20I will be played on 1 April followed by the second and third on 2 and 4 April respectively in Karachi.
