Mohammad Nabi signed up by Leicestershire for T20 Blast

Mohammad Nabi becomes the second Afghanistan player to sign up for T20 Blast after Rashid Khan.

Afghanistan all-rounder –Mohammad Nabi has been signed up by Leicestershire as their overseas player for the 2018 edition of England's domestic T20 tournament –T20 Blast.

The 33-year-old brings to the table with his experience of 160 T20 matches in which he has scored 2191 runs at a strike rate of close to 140, with six half-centuries under his belt, as well as, picked up 182 wickets at 20.58 with four four-wicket hauls. He is also an experienced T20 league cricketer, having played for Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash and will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2018.

Veteran right-arm off-spinner is currently placed at No. 11 in the ICC ODI bowling rankings and 22nd in the T20I rankings. Nabi is placed at the third in both the ODI and T20I all-rounder ratings.

As per Cricbuzz, Mohammad Nabi said about his signing with Leicestershire, “I have heard a lot of good things about the Foxes. I am looking forward to working with Paul Nixon and joining a professional and ambitious county with a good track record in T20.”

Meanwhile, Leicestershire head coach Nixon said, “I know all about Mohammad Nabi's qualities in the game. Hecan make a huge impact in our middle order and is an off-break bowler who operates with great control and skill. Nabi has a brilliant white ball record for Afghanistan and in T20 competitions around the world. He is exactly the type of player that we were looking for and is somebody who will fit in beautifully here.”

Having won the title in 2004, 2006 and 2011, Leicestershire Foxes are the most successful team in England's T20 competition. Now they are aiming for their fourth T20 title.
