Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC)  made few changes in their initial squad for ICC World Cup Qualifiers, as they have named Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao as replacement of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda for the tournament, which is scheduled to start from 4 March in Harare.

On their official Twitter handle, ZC confirmed, “@ZimCricketv have recalled Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The two were not named in the initial 15-player squad, but have been included in place of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda.”

Although, Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda have had poor Afghanistan series, but the reason for their omission has not been revealed yet by the Zimbabwe Cricket Board.

Williams, who last played for Zimbabwe in July 2017, had some decent performances at the domestic circuit, due to which the selectors decided to give him a node for the crucial tournament.

On the other hand, Zhuwao, who hasn't played any international cricket since September 2011, has been picked up following his brilliant match-winning 265 against Rhinos in the Logan Cup recently.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will start their World Cup Qualifiers campaign against Nepal in Bulawayo on the 4th March of the tournament and would be keen to use home advantage to seal a spot for the 2019 World Cup.

With 8 teams having already qualified for the ICC 2019 World Cup, two places are still up for grabs. West Indies and Afghanistan are likened to be favorites for the qualifiers, however the lesser known teams can spring in a surprise.

"@ZimCricketv have recalled Sean Williams and Cephas Zhuwao for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. The two were not named in the initial 15-player squad, but have been included in place of Ryan Burl and Tarisai Musakanda," the official twitter handle of Zimbabwe cricket said.
