The BCCI selection committee headed by MSK Prasad is set to announce the Indian squad for the three nation T20I series in Sri Lanka in a couple of days.
If the reports are to be believed, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, who have played almost all the games on the two month long tour of South Africa, will be rested. Along with these two players, the name of Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also discussed to be given a rest according to the team think tank’s work load management.
If this happens, the Indian team might be led by Rohit Sharma, who captained India in the limited overs series against Sri Lanka recently at home. Having topped the run scoring charts in domestic cricket recently, Mayank Agarwal is also tipped to make it into the Indian team.
The Nidahas Trophy is a tri-nation T20I series featuring hosts Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh and will be played from March 6th- March 18th at the R. Premadasa Stadium under lights.
