The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur is all set to host the three-match One Day International series against England Women, starting from 8 April 2018.

In December 2017, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) had announced the schedule of the three-match series, scheduled to be played on April 8, 11, 14, but the venue had not been confirmed.

Before heading into the One Day series, India will also play a triangular Twenty20 International series, featuring Australia and England Women as well, starting from March 22 to April 3 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Since the 2017 World Cup in England in July last year, Indian Women’s Cricket Team have not played a single game with the schedule it will be a hectic summer for them following their 2017-20 Women’s Championship campaign with a 2-1 victory in South Africa this month.

Currently, Indian Women are playing the five-match T20I series against South Africa, having won the first two T20Is, while the hosts won the in the third game before the fourth encounter was abandoned due to rain.

Even if South Africa manages to win the final T20 at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday (February 24), despite their win India will clinch the series with a 2-0 lead. At the moment, India is the second team on the Championship table behind West Indies.

Ever since Indian women's empowering performance in the ICC Women's World Cup 2017, Mithali Raj has been very vocal about the growth of women's cricket in India. The series against England will also give a chance to the Indian womens' team to take the revenge of their defeat against the same opposition against the same opposition.
