Cheteshwar Pujara with his wife | Twitter India and Saurashtra batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was blessed with a baby girl on Friday. Pujara shared the good news with his fans and followers on Twitter. He had first revealed about expecting a baby, in January this year.

The 29-year-old shared a picture of him holding the newborn with his wife. "Welcome lil one. Excited and super happy for the new roles in our lives. We made a wish and she came true!," wrote the Rajkot-born.

Before that, Pujara had taken to Twitter to share another message on his anniversary, hinting that a "little one" is arriving soon. "5 years of togetherness and a little one coming soon,to the best times ahead #happyanniversary #happyus #wife #family #parentstobe," he had written.

Pujara had tied the knot with Puja Pabari in Rajkot on 13 February 2013.

The prominent Indian batsman is currently in India as the men in blue are playing limited-overs cricket. Pujara, who brings strength to the Indian team in Test cricket, is not considered for the 50-over or 20-over cricket.

But the Test specialist had shown desire to play the limited-over cricket as well. In support, he spoke about his first-class record. "Perception, I would say, has played a major role. If you check my performance in List A (average of 58 plus over 88 games) and T20s (strike rate of 105.18 in 58 games), I still have a lot to offer in the shorter formats. I am not at all worried as I know my opportunity would come at some point in time," Pujara said.
