Australian vice-captain –David Warner, who led the Kangaroos to the 2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series win on Wednesday (21 February) in the absence of regular skipper Steve Smith, is aiming to dominate the South African bowlers in the upcoming Test series, starting on 1 March in Durban.

Warner's grueling summer will start when he flies from Auckland to Johannesburg, where Australians have already gathered for the four-match Test series. However, the Aussie opener will miss the 3-day warm-up match to be held at Willowmoore Park, Benoni from 22 - 24 February, but will available for the series opener Test in Durban.

Meanwhile, Warner is the only player in the Australian squad who will play in all formats of the game in this summer, but he is eager to go the rainbow nation and replicate his 2014 show when the left-hander was adjudged man of the series for his 543 runs at 90.50 which helped Australia to clinch the series 2-1.

As per AAP, Warner told reporters in Auckland, “I can't wait to get over there. I've really got to embrace it again and still stay hungry for those runs. It's a couple of years on. They're going to be smarter and work out where to bowl to me from the series that they did at home. They're going to challenge me in areas where I've been getting out. I'm prepared for what they bring and I've just got to make sure I'm in the right mental state and I play each ball on its merit.”

He is also eager to face the frightening South African pace attack comprising with the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander in the upcoming Test series.

Warner signed off by saying, “They're a world-class outfit. They've got bowlers who bowl 140km/h, they've got Vern who hits the money every time and if the conditions are in his favor, and he’s going to be tough work. You know Morne is going to come into your ribs. It's exciting. Just thinking about it now sends shivers down my spine. I just want to get over there and get into it.”
