Indian star opener –Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently in South Africa for a full series with Indian Cricket Team since January 2018, on Tuesday, went on social media to share a heart-warming message for his family to express how much he missed them in the rainbow nation.
The 32-year-old left-hander has been a vital cog in India’s 5-1 historic win in the One Day International series against South Africa, as he hammered 323 runs in the six ODIs including two fifties and a century, only behind Captain Virat Kohli’s 558 runs in the ODI series.
After a good show in the ODIs, Dhawan has continued his sizzling form with the willow in the T20 International series in South Africa as well, smashing a crucial 72 to drive India to set a target of 203/5 in the first T20I, which the touring side won by 28 runs at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on 18 February.
Meanwhile, the two-month-long South African tour has left the southpaw in a homesick state, missing his family in India, trying to explain how difficult it is for a professional cricketer during his playing days to stay away from his family.
Dhawan posted pictures of his family on his official Twitter handle and wrote, “Only when u spend so much time away from family, u realize how much u actually miss them!I miss spending time with my kids, playing with them, cooking and being there for them. Also, miss the Mrs like crazy! Want 2 spend quality time with her once I go back. luv u all to d moon & back!”
