Indian cricket saw a meteoric rise in last 2 decades. They started standing stiffly against tough sides which helped them expand their fan base.

Irfan Pathan wanted to know the reason behind it. He put forth a question before the cricket fans. The 33-year-old all-rounder took to Twitter and asked the reason behind the rise of Indian cricket to the fans.

"Question for all the lovers of Indian cricket. What is the reason behind the rise of Indian cricket?," Pathan wrote.

Fans credited the Indian skipper for the positive change. They also not forgot the coaches who changed the fate of Indian cricket.

Indian cricket was uplifted by Sourav Ganguly after the country was down with match-fixing scandal. He led the Indian team to some historic wins.

MS Dhoni has a similar story. He led a young Indian team to World T20 triumph after the team faced an early elimination from World Cup 2007. He later captained the Indian side which went on to win World Cup 2011.
