After tasting success in the U19 cricket team for India, Abhishek Sharma is making to mark in the senior Indian cricket team. He says that he has to make his own space in the Indian team which of course will not be easy given the presence of so many young players.

Sharma said, “I have to take out my own place. I will practice harder than I think I should. And if I do well in the matches and the whole camps, then I’ll be there very soon.”

Talking about the World Cup, he said, “We were dreaming about it since two years and when it happened we felt out of the world.” The Amritsar player added that the World Cup triumph has set a platform of opportunities for him and he will try to grab them with both hands.

"I think it is a great opportunity for all of us after winning the tournament because we will get more chances regarding others. This is the good platform for all of us. I will take this opportunity and practice harder and focus more,” he said.

A stupendous U19 success has prompted the IPL franchises to notice his talent. He was roped in by Delhi Daredevils. The all-rounder will also be seen playing for DD in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League starting on April 7.

Apart from him, several other Indian U19 superstars have made it to the IPL. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi have attracted popular teams in the IPL and promise to deliver according to their potential.
