Legendary Indian batsman –Sachin Tendulkar, who has been named as the brand ambassador of the upcoming T20 Mumbai League, believes that the tournament ‘will provide a great platform to the talented young cricketers in Mumbai’.
As per Press Trust of India, Tendulkar said in a media release, “It's always a pleasure to be associated with the Mumbai Cricket Association. The T20 Mumbai League will not only entertain cricket fans, but also provide a great platform to the talented young cricketers in Mumbai.”
The T20 tournament is approved and sanctioned by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and under its aegis, while organized by Sports India Pvt Ltd –a consortium of IIFL Group as Lead Member and Wizcraft, is slated to be held from March 11 to 28.
Kadar Makani, CEO of Probability Sports said, “We are delighted and privileged to welcome Sachin Tendulkar on board as the League Ambassador of the T20 Mumbai League. His unmatched popularity and vast knowledge of the game will play an integral part in motivating players of the league.”
The teams six will be from Mumbai North, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North- Central, Mumbai South-Central and Mumbai South in the tournament.
Meanwhile , Virat Kohli who is second to Tendulkar's tally of 49 ODI tons, notched up his 35th ODI ton against South Africa in Centurion in the final ODI. he also has scored 500 runs in the ODI series and as a skipper has lead India to their first ODI series victory against South Africa in South Africa. He broke several records in the series and made some new ones. He also is inching closer to 10000 ODI runs.
