Pakistan skipper –Sarfraz Ahmed, on Tuesday,  has denied rumors of leading Pakistan across all formats is becoming a burden on him. On the contrary, he said that leading Pakistan is a matter of great pride for him and he considers himself fortunate to do this job.

According to a report in the Dawn, Sarfraz said, “It is great honour for me that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed me captain in all three formats; and this [responsibility] in no way is burdening me. I have always enjoyed playing cricket in every format and tried to produce my best and bring the best out of the national team [as captain].”

Commenting on their defeat against New Zealand, the 30-year-old Sarfraz said, “We could have won at least two ODIs [in New Zealand]. But in the end, the result went against us. The batting, which has some flaws, did not click according to our plans.”

Recently, former cricketer Moin Khan urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to extend the tenure of Sarfraz Ahmed for at least by two more years to avoid possible dressing room conflicts.

Sarfraz Ahmed has brought a new dimension to Pakistan's game ever since leading Pakistan to the ICC Champions Trophy title. Under him the team has been playing an aggressive brand of cricket off late. After losing the ODI series, Pakistan under Sarfraz Ahmed bounced back in the T20I series.

With bilateral ties between India and Pakistan being brought to a standstill, the rivalry between both the countries is only being seen in ICC tournaments. With Kohli and Sarfraz Ahmed both being vibrant captains, a series will spice up the contest and will also be a step forward to garnering the relations between the neighbouring countries.
