Scandal-hit England all-rounder Ben Stokes has indicated that he will plead not guilty to affray charge at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (February 13).

Stokes was being arrested on the charges of causing actual bodily harm to two men in the early hours of September 25 outside a Bristol nightclub.

It is alleged that a 27-year-old man suffered a fractured eye socket during the ugly brawl, which happened several hours after England’s ODI clash against the West Indies at Bristol's Brightside Ground.

Stokes, along with the other two defendants Ryan Ali and Ryan Hale, all indicated they were acting in self defence. Earlier last month, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had given Stokes the green signal to feature in the ongoing T20I tri-series despite the affray charge on him.

The Durham all-rounder is also due to play in the Indian Premier League for Rajasthan Royals after being given permission by ECB to sign a contract. The inaugural IPL champions roped in Stokes by expending INR 12.5 crores during the recently held IPL auction.
