Worcestershire sign Travis Head for County Season 2018

Australian middle-order batsman – Travis Head has been signed up by the English County side –Worcestershire for the 2018 season, the club confirmed on Friday.

The 24-year-old part-time off-spinner led the Adelaide Strikers to the Big Bash League 2017-18 title while finished the tournament as the fourth highest run-scorer.

Head, who made his international debut in 2016, has played 34 One-Day International and 10 Twenty20 Internationals for Australia so far, could be the biggest boost for the English County side as he will feature in all three formats for Worcestershire in the season 2018.

According to a report in AFP, Worcestershire vice-chairman Tim Curtis said, “We are delighted to have signed Travis. Travis will start the season with us in April and will be with us right through to and including T20 finals day on September 15. He will miss two championship games in June when Australia have an ODI series and a T20I against England over here.”

Curtis signed off by saying, “But he is ambitious to play Test cricket and Cricket Australia have encouraged him and other young players to play cricket this summer.”
