Indian pacer Ishant Sharma is expected to join Delhi camp on Friday for his team’s Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 encounter against Maharashtra in Group B to be held in Dharamsala.

Though, the lanky pacer missed the first Test of the Freedom Series owing to fever, but the Delhi lad was outstanding in the last two Tests, taking 10 South African wickets.

The 29-year-old was appointed the Delhi skipper for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but he decided to skip the first two games of the domestic one day tournament, wishing for some rest after South Africa Test series.

However, even without their skipper and leading pacer, Delhi have done well so far in the tournament, winning both matches, first was against Uttar Pradesh by 55-runs, and second was against Tripura by 7 wickets, under the stand-in leadership of Pradeep Sangwan.

Reportedly, Ishant Sharma will join the Delhi team as well as take over the captaincy from stand-in skipper Pradeep Sangwan from their match against Maharashtra, which is scheduled to be played at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on 9 February.

With their Captain’s return, Delhi would definitely like to continue their winning streak in the Vijay Hazare tournament and display another match-winning performance against Maharashtra.

Previously, Delhi have won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2017-18 under the leadership of Sangwan.
