Rahul Dravid receives Rs 2.4 crore as professional fees from BCCI for U19 World Cup campaign

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has paid Rs 2.43 crore to the World Cup winning India U19 coach Rahul Dravid as professional fees for the six-month period ended December 31, 2017.

According to the latest details of the payments done by the BCCI for January 2018 on the Board's official website, besides Rahul Dravid, bowling coach – Paras Mhambrey had also received Rs 27 lakh as professional fees for the four-month period between August and November 2017.

Meanwhile, former left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra has received a one-time benefit of Rs 60 lakh from the Board. The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) also paid the tour, match and retainer fees of current India cricketers Ajinkya Rahane (Rs 1.47 crore), Hardik Pandya (1.27 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (Rs 1.08 crore), Wriddhiman Saha (Rs 57.81 lakh) and Abhinav Mukund (Rs 33.69 lakh) for their last years services.

Mithun Minhas received Rs 75.60 lakh for his service as the head coach of the Jammu and Kashmir for the last two seasons, while Gagan Khoda has received Rs 54 lakh as professional fees for the period February-November 2017, though, he is now no longer a member of the selectors' panel.

Sanjay Manjrekar and Murali Karthik also received Rs 36.28 lakh and Rs 30.61 lakh respectively as professional fees for the last home series between India and Sri Lanka.

Under Dravid's mentorship, India won their fourth U19 title defeating Australia in the finals. While Manjot Kalra bagged the Man of the Match award, Shubman Gill was elected as the Player of the Series.

U19 success has prompted many IPL franchises to focus on these players for who have roped them in for their respective IPL sides. While Manjot Kalra was roped in by  Delhi Daredevils, the likes of Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti was swapped by KKR.
