Indian wicket-keeper batsman –Parthiv Patel, who is currently recovering from an injury and stay back at home, is expecting to join Gujarat camp by 11 February for the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018.

Without their experienced player, Gujarat lost both their Vijay Hazare games against Tamil Nadu and Mumbai and now they will face Madhya Pradesh in Group C on 8 February in Chennai.

There was a golden opportunity for Parthiv to justify national selectors’ call and turn his fortune in the Indian Team after regular keeper Wriddhiman Saha got injured.  However, he failed to impress them as his show in the Centurion Test was below average both as keeper and batsman.

But things went even worse when the 32-year-old injured his right index finger on the fourth day of the third Test against South Africa at The Wanderers, Johannesburg.

According to a report in Sport Star, Parthiv Patel said, “I plan to leave for Chennai on February 9. I should be fine by the match on February 11 (against Rajasthan).”

He was roped in by RCB in the recently concluded IPL auctions. He has scored over 2000 runs at a strike rate of 117.23 in 119 IPL matches and previously played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Being a senior member of the Gujarat squad he would like to contribute in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy.

IPL 2018 gives him yet another opportunity to turn around his career for the better. He was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 1.7 crores which in many ways was a budget buys for RCB.

Over IPL's decade-long history,  Parthiv has played for a number of teams in the past and is a veteran of the league. Playing for the RCB in 2014, the Indian wicketkeeper has very much come back to his old franchise 4 years later.
