After clinching the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2018 in New Zealand on Saturday, India U-19 team led by Prithvi Shaw received an awe-inspiring reception from the fans upon their arrival at Mumbai airport on Monday.

India pulled off an emphatic 8-wicket victory over Australia in the final of Under-19 World Cup to become the only team in history to lift the coveted title for a record fourth time. The Boys in Blue had earlier won the title in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

A remarkable bowling performance by India U-19 boys saw them limiting Australia to a below par total of 216 in the final. In reply, Prithvi Shaw and company chased down the total with 8 wickets in hand and 67 balls to spare.

Here’s the video of India U-19 team’s arrival at Mumbai airport:

In the video, the players can be seen mobbed by the fans. Everyone wanted to get the glimpse of new world champions. While some fans were spotted clicking pictures and making videos of their arrival, others were seen carrying garland to greet the future stars.

The Boys in Blue have literally steamrolled all their opponents in the Youth World Cup in New Zealand. While the Rahul Dravid-coached side registered mammoth victories in all 3 of their group matches against Australia, Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe respectively, they thrashed Bangladesh U-19 in the quarter-final clash by 131 runs before humiliating arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final by 203 runs.
