In a recent development regarding S Sreesanth's life ban, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the BCCI giving the Indian cricket body a four-month notice period to come out with a decision regarding the discarded Indian cricketer.

The case pertains to the IPL spot-fixing scandal that rocked world cricket in 2013 and the seamer has been fighting for a return to the cricket field ever since.

Earlier Sreesanth challenged the decision made by Kerala High Court on his future in the sport. Back then all of the 36 accused were released by the Patiala High Court in July 2015. However, BCCI differed on the decision and refused to lift the ban on the cricketer.

The fast bowler went on to challenge the ban by filing a written petition earlier in 2017. Sreesanth argued that the inquiry team formed by BCCI had submitted the final report without giving him a chance of a hearing. However, after the single bench of the High Court cleared Sreesanth of all charges, BCCI challenged the judgment and reimposed the ban.

BCCI reasoned the step they took based on the primary evidence they had as proof against him. Acting BCCI President in his response to the Supreme Court's decision said that "Our legal team will study the order & submit its report to us for our future course of action."

It's important to mention here that Sreesanth was ignored by the respective  IPL franchises in the recently concluded auctions in Bengaluru for the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League.

This pretty much sums up that he is no longer one of the desired cricketers of the country and he not getting a chance to play even in franchise cricket is a testament of his future in international cricket.
