Virat Kohli’s special message for World Cup winning India Under-19 team

India had earlier won the U-19 world Cup in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

Prithvi Shaw-led India U-19 cricket team produced a clinical performance in the final of the ICC U-19 World Cup to beat Australia by 8 wickets at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Saturday. It was India’s fourth U-19 World Cup title, the most by any cricket playing nation. They had earlier won this coveted title in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

The senior India team skipper Virat Kohli, who is ruling the cricketing world currently, has led from the front during the 2008 edition of ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup which took place in Malaysia. 

Following the momentous victory of Boys in Blue today, Kohli took to micro-blogging site Twitter and urged the youngsters to take it as a stepping stone. 

“What a win for the U19 boys, take it as a stepping stone; Long long way to go! Enjoy the moment! @BCCI #U19CWC,” Virat wrote in his tweet.

India U-19 team have literally steamrolled all their opponents in the Youth World Cup in New Zealand. While the Rahul Dravid-coached side registered mammoth victories in all 3 of their group matches against Australia, Papua New Guinea and Zimbabwe respectively, they thrashed Bangladesh U-19 in the quarter-final clash by 131 runs before humiliating arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final by 203 runs.
